Only One Ticket to Ride

Aging brings so much angst… Knowing it would happen is no help as the petals of life begin to fade. I count… she loves me she loves me not as our expectations rise and fall like a Carrowinds coaster with its ups and downs and loop-t-loops. Knowing the ride is about over is no help. […]

Be Your Hero

Wordy Spirit

I could not find a Hero in my life. So I became One.” – Muniba Mazari

You are a Hero

The Merriam Webster’s Dictionary defines the word Hero as: “A person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.” When one thinks of the word ‘Hero’ various images may surface . Those who value patriotism will see heroic soldiers on the battlefield in their minds eye, ready to give up their own lives for the greater good of their country. For some who have gone through troubles in their life have looked at their Pastors, leaders and sages for strength in a difficult time. Everyone has a hero. Whether it is a character of your favorite Movie or a person in your life who has been a beacon.

A Hero is someone who is respected, appreciated and revered. A Hero is not a random…

Freedom From Exile

Wordy Spirit

Shackled in our own mind..

There have been many exiles throughout the ages. Of various different forms, alternate realities and tales, yet all involving those who were tortured, persecuted, and shamed. Throughout the millennia there has been multitudes of people from different ethnicity groups, races, and cultures who were forced into exile due to reasons which can not be comprehended in todays modern culture and date and age.

We all know stories dating thousands of years. Take the Jews in Egypt, who were forced into slavery and subjugation; the cassocks, the Romans, and their progeny in later years who attacked their prey with ruthlessness. There were always those who lived in constant fear of yet another tragedy or attack. Absolutely paralyzed by the knowledge that they would be the helpless victim of the bloody perpetrators yet again.

Nowadays we scarcely know of such a reality. There may be isolated incidents…

No Pain, No Gain

Wordy Spirit

I haven’t had the easiest childhood, to say the least. Life has forced me to grow up too fast and too soon, at a pace that I could barely follow. I was unceremoniously thrown into the whirlpool of pain, anguish, and intolerable emotional purgatory.

Nobody asked me if I wanted to do this. If I felt strong enough, fast enough, big enough. Life just handed me a truckload- full of agony which I needed to work through and deal with.

I’ve been diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease at a very young age. Years ago there was scarce information as to what a tick bite can do, let alone the impact it has on the body. For years I have suffered physical pains, and mental health struggles; in addition to uncomfortable and painful symptoms which affected my studies, my concentration, and my relationships.

Over the course of my late teens…

Kicks of Love

Wordy Spirit

Photo by Engin Akyurt on Pexels.com

Now that I’m entering the sixth month of my pregnancy my baby’s kicks come hard and fast. So much so that I may cringe, the sharp pains in my stomach something that I’m not accustomed to!

It is interesting to note that I have not felt any resentment or anger for the pain that this is causing me. It is uncomfortable many times. When I’m just trying to have a good time and the aches and pains are throbbing. When I’m trying to settle in for a good night’s sleep and am interrupted every few moments with sharp pangs. All that notwithstanding, I haven’t yet experienced an iota of annoyance at those kicks.

Rather I find them to be exhilarating, almost intoxicating. This pregnancy has been long-awaited and very much anticipated. Every time I feel the familiar kick my heart fills with joy and…

Wordy Spirit

Photo by Oleksandr Pidvalnyi on Pexels.com

To my beloved husband, soul mate, and best friend. Written in honor of Our Anniversary!

Every time I look at you

There’s so much that I see

Will you ever know just how much

I’m glad that you’re with me?

Every time you take me ‘round

Or kiss and squeeze my hand

Babe, just how loved you are

I hope you understand.

The feeling of just being here

Completely one with you

The love you give, the things you say

You know I love you too!?

So tonight when we come

closer all the way

My precious thing- there is just

Too much I should say.

You make me happy just because

You’re mine and always will

The way you laugh and wink to me

The way time stands still.

Just how much you are loved,

Respected for who you are

There’ll never be…

Greatest Blessing

If you take a long and hard look around you and think about all the happenings going on in our world, it is easy to lose yourself in the pain and endless heartache. It doesn’t take much for one to realize that the world we’re living in is a frightening place. Where our every move is unpredictable and we do not know what tomorrow will bring.

Some see this universe as a bloody, merciless, and frightening world. The very ground seems to be cursed and there are very few people who are genuinely kind and gracious. Many will see the trouble which befalls the people residing on this planet earth, and shall never see anything but pain, suffering, and confusion.

Perhaps those can not be blamed. For is it not difficult to find the good when we seem to be immersed in a sea of…

A to Z of Cathedrals – K is for Kotor in Montenegro

After a long drive around the Bay of Kotor we eventually arrived in the City which was bigger than I imagined it would be from the descriptions in the travel guides and there was a six deck, two thousand passenger cruise liner tied up at the dock which was so huge it dwarfed the […]

This Is Not Insipid: A Vocabulary Tutorial + Photo Update Of Guest Bathroom Renovation

THE VOCABULARY PART Here’s how this blog post came to be, my little scribes.  I read something that was lame, lacking any spunk.  In truth I couldn’t believe it’d been published. All I could think was: “this is insipid.” While I thought that was the right word to describe what I’d read, I sometimes doublecheck words when I […]

ഞാൻ എന്റെ രാജ്യത്തെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു;
